The Arrow Financial Corporation Family of Companies is seeking dynamic, authentic individuals to join our amazing team!  Currently, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our Finance team as: 

 

Staff Accountant

 

This may be the opportunity for you if you have experience in:

> Accounting

> General Ledgers

> Journal Entries

 

About this position:

Responsible for independently performing a variety of accounting functions.  Also performs a variety of duties to maintain the general ledger accounts of the Company.

 

Responsibilities

> Assist with the accounting for Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, Leases and other areas as deemed necessary.

> Prepare/post JEs for a variety of areas such as Pension, Loan (sales), dealer reserves, expense accruals and other areas as assigned

> Perform/review account reconciliations for assigned accounts – not limited to above areas

> Assist with verifying and/or coding of invoices and expense vouchers for proper input.

> Assist Accounting Operations Manager with creating and enhancing internal procedures

> Assist with departmental training.  Provide support / guidance as appropriate to co-workers and customers.

> Assist with the Accounting Representative’s duties as needed.

> Prepare/post journal entries as needed

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required

> 6 years of accounting or related experience (degree included) required; Banking a plus

 

Skills/Knowledge:

> Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear and accurate conclusion to explain variances 

> Solid communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal; comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating with others to achieve goals

Detail oriented, extremely organized, ability to prioritize and manage time to achieve objectives

> Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel knowledge, including pivot tables and other database functions, Word and mainframe general ledger applications

 

Physical Demands

> Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for brief periods of time

> Must be able to repetitively use telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard

> Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs.

The salary range for this position is $58,500.00 - $65,000.00 commensurate with experience and education.

Additional compensation may be earned through the Company’s profit-sharing bonus program, subject to individual and company performance.
