Woodturning: French Style Rolling Pin with David Salvetti. #946-0611.
The French Style Rolling Pin is popular, easy to turn and can be made in a reasonable amount of time. This rolling pin is laminated from contrasting woods, then turned and sanded to perfect smoothness. We will be using maple (white in color) and purpleheart (darkens to a deep purple), or maple and black walnut, student's choice. This project does not require previous woodturning experience-it is within reach of even the beginner, yet an expert would be proud of the finished product. It makes a great gift. The instructor has made many rolling pins and has developed a number of methods to ease the steps and assure a successful finished product. Make a unique project that is both functional and beautiful! NOTE: Age 16 and up - For your safety: no loose fitting clothes, hair tied back, comfortable shoes, and no jewelry. If sensitive to wood dust registration for turning classes is not recommended.
