Newly created full-time role reflects nonprofit's commitment to expanding accessible woodworking education in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – Saratoga Joinery, a nonprofit community woodworking shop, announced today the promotion of Ben Knapp to Director of Shop Operations and Education. This newly created full-time position expands Ben's leadership role and underscores the organization's dedication to providing high-quality, accessible woodworking education to the Capital Region community.

In his expanded role, Ben will oversee all aspects of Saratoga Joinery's educational programming, developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum strategy that serves woodworkers at every skill level. His responsibilities include partnering with instructors to ensure continuity and excellence across all classes, while developing and teaching his own courses.

He will also continue to manage day-to-day shop operations while expanding the organization's class offerings to meet the diverse interests of its nearly 150 members.

Since opening in March 2024, Saratoga Joinery has established itself as more than a workshop—it's a vibrant community hub and third space where people from all walks of life come together to learn, create, and connect. The organization serves the broader Saratoga Springs community by providing accessible skills training, fostering personal growth through hands-on making, and building relationships that extend beyond individual projects.
