PDT Market celebrates opening with ribbon cutting ceremony

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – New local business PDT Market - a specialty grocer driven by the experience of eating, shopping and learning - celebrated its opening on Monday at a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.

“This has been a journey to create this space here,” PDT Market creator and chef Adam Foti said at the event. “We’re really excited to open the doors and be a part of the community, and invite people in for all different types of stuff from grocery shopping to eating, drinking and everything in between.”

Conveniently located at 55 Railroad Pl. in downtown Saratoga Springs, the 19,000-square-foot market features produce, grocery, creamery, beverage, deli, meat and seafood departments as well as a ready-to-eat section and a build-your-own charcuterie station along with wellness and floral products.

The market also has a kitchen, dine-in seating, and the popular PDT Market Bar, where guests can enjoy food, cocktails, wine, beer and more. Foti said this area of the store serves as a communal space. “You can come and sit here and hang out with your friends or family, coworkers - meet people or bump into people.”

Additionally, PDT Market provides cooking classes and private demonstrations from its on-site studio kitchen.

Event catering by PDT Market is available as well.

Short for “Pomme de Terre,” which translates from Old French to “apple from the earth,” this multi-faceted business is a longtime dream come true for Foti, whose aim is to continue establishing PDT Market as part of the community, with an eventual goal of opening more locations within the greater Capital Region in the future.

PDT Market is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

An upcoming PDT Derby Party with Kentucky Derby viewing, Derby-inspired cocktails, a dinner buffet and live music is scheduled for 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, with tickets available online at www.pdtmarket.com/event-details/derbyparty.
