Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York Appoints New Director of Finance and Accounting

ALBANY, N.Y. – Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) has named Tara Hagen as its director of finance and accounting.  
In her new role, Hagen is responsible for preparing the general operating budget for presentation to the CEO and Board; maintaining and reviewing daily and monthly general ledger entries and account balances; preparing income and balance sheet statements; and preparing and providing year end audit requirements with support of staff.  
Hagen brings three and a half years of experience in finance and accounting with her to her position at GSNENY. Prior to joining GSNENY, Hagen was a staff accountant for Heveron and Company CPA’s PPLC in Rochester. There, she specialized in charter school audits, where she performed audit procedures, including single audit testing, investment analysis, cash procedures, and accounts payable. She also prepared financial statements and disclosure for not-for-profit organizations and for-profit organizations as well as completed hundreds of personal tax returns with a wide variety of complexity. 
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University, an Associate in Business Administration from Monroe Country Community College, and a Bachelor of Science from St. John Fisher College. Hagen resides in Middle Grove with her boyfriend of eight years.
