“Team Double H” Runners Fundraising to Support Double H’s Mission

Lake Luzerne, NY – (October 25, 2023) — The Double H Ranch has been named an Official Charity Partner for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, November 5. Double H Ranch will be among more than 550 official charity partners providing thousands of runners the opportunity to run in the world’s biggest and boldest marathon.

The TCS New York City Marathon is one of the city’s most anticipated and iconic annual sporting events, attracting runners and spectators of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities from around the world. More than 50,000 runners are expected this year after the race returned to full capacity last year.

This will be the inaugural year for “Team Double H” to participate in the TCS New York City Marathon as an Official Charity Partner. Five runners will be racing in the event, each fundraising to support camp’s programs. To date, the runners have raised nearly $25,000 to support Double H Ranch’s mission of providing year-round programs to children and their families living with a serious illness. Team Double H is represented by: Megan Doster of Queensbury, NY. Ms. Doster is a Double H Ranch volunteer and community supporter; Alex Griffen of Granville, NY. Ms. Griffen is an Alumni Counselor and currently the Assistant Camp Director of Programs at Double H Ranch; Peter Gannon of Loudonville, NY. Mr. Gannon is the President & CEO of the United Way of the Greater Capital Region and supporter of Double H Ranch; Chris Marsh of Saratoga Springs, NY. Mr. Marsh is an Elementary Physical Education teacher at North Colonie Central School District; Ashley Sterling of Freehold, NJ. Ms. Sterling is a Registered Nurse and former camper, counselor, and current volunteer at Double H.

The NYRR Official Charity Partner Program offers an opportunity for nonprofit organizations to raise funds to support their missions and services. Participating charities can offer guaranteed entry to runners who fundraise on their behalf.

Since its inception in 2006, the TCS New York City Marathon Official Charity Partner Program has raised more than $460 million for more than 1,000 worthy nonprofit organizations across the globe. Prior to the start of the official program, the New York City Marathon had served as an outlet for individual philanthropic runners since the 1980s.
