158 Units of Affordable Housing Coming To Saratoga Springs

158 Units of Affordable Housing Coming To Saratoga Springs

On Wednesday, August 15th, we joined with dozens of local leaders to celebrate the ground breaking for Intrada, a mixed use housing development that will provide 158 units of affordable housing, near the junction of Washington and West Avenues, in Saratoga Springs.

This project is being developed by the Vecino Group with support from New York State's Housing and Community Development Agency. Special thanks to the LA Group and Nolan & Heller, LLP, for leading the charge to get this project approved by the City and to Conner Roohan and Gerard Wise, of Roohan Realty, who negotiated the real estate deal that made this possible.

The Vecino Group is also partnering with CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services which will provide on-site support to the individuals and families that choose to live here when it is constructed. The development will include ten units specifically for individuals that have aged-out of the foster care system and need supportive housing. The units are being constructed by Bonacio Construction.

Last year, the Chamber in this video identified this site, on Washington Avenue, near West Ave, as one of the best for the construction of affordable housing with the City. This site is near local schools, the hospital, the train station, Empire State College, and on a bus route. We're hopeful that this housing will help local companies to retain or attract workers as they'll now have affordable options to live and work in Saratoga Springs. We also hope the City will move forward expeditiously to support the construction of more affordable housing on similar sites.

The Chamber asked Rick Manzardo, President of the Vecino Group, for more information about eligibility for renting these units. He provided the guide below which shows income limits for those who will be eligible for these units. The person count correlates to number of tenants within the unit.  The reportable income of each tenant must be added together to get their total income.  The varying 60%, 50% and 80% levels have different rental amounts.

The Vecino Group is compiling a waiting list for this project. If you have someone who works for you that may be interested, please email Sara Thornton at the Chamber and we will put you in direct contact with the proper representatives at the Vecino Group.
