We are seeking a Detail-Oriented Estimator to join our team in Saratoga Springs, NY. This role is essential in developing accurate and thorough project estimates that support our continued growth and uphold the high standards our clients rely on. The Estimator will collaborate closely with ownership, the Director of Construction, the Business Manager, and Field Project Managers to ensure project success from the start.
Responsibilities
· Review architectural drawings and specifications, develop project scope and create accurate quantity takeoffs
· Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals for construction
· Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather necessary information
· Assist with value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations.
· Solicit, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
· Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle
· Contribute to bid preparation and submission processes
· Support project management teams in scheduling and resource planning.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
Qualifications
· Proven experience in construction estimating (2–5+ years of estimating experience in residential or light commercial construction preferred).
· Working knowledge of Excel, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project or other related estimating software or plan take-off tools
· Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors
· Excellent negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively
· Knowledge of contract administration and project management principles
· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
