Charity Golf Tournament to Benefit The Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern NY

For fifteen years, Sunmark Federal Credit Union has been proud to host our Charity Golf Classic. With the extra effort from our community, we have raised more than $220,000 for various local charities in the Capital Region.  

We’re honored to team up with The Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern NY this year. We hope that with your help and generosity, we can raise more money than ever for a local cause.

Arthritis Foundation is the leading organization to improve the quality of life for those living with the daily trials of arthritis through leadership in the area of prevention, control and cure of arthritis.  Programs range from research, public health, education, health and wellness, support services and advocacy.  One of the most startling statistics is that 1 in 5 individuals have a doctor diagnosis of arthritis, which equates to over 300,000 friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers have arthritis.   Arthritis can affect anyone at any age.  In fact, two-thirds of those affected by arthritis are under the age of 65.  Even our children are not immune to this disease.  Juvenile Arthritis affects nearly 250,000 children across the country, 3,000 of them within our own community.   Arthritis costs the economy $165 billion dollars in health care costs, of which $43 billion is from lost wages and work absenteeism.   It takes vision to move our agenda forward, which is to aggressively decrease the impact of arthritis by 20% by the year 2030. It also takes the financial support of our community at large.

The Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern NY strives to assist our friends and neighbors within its 14 county service area.  The Arthritis Foundation is committed to raising awareness and reducing the unacceptable impact of arthritis,. We are leading the way to conquer the nation's leading cause of disability through increased education, outreach, research, advocacy and other vital programs and services.
