SPRING INVITATIONAL AND AUTO SHOW - 05/16/2014

Circle May 17, 2014 on your calendar as this is the date for the 2014 Spring Invitational and Auto Show in the Saratoga Spa State Park.

This Museum event is part of a two-day experience that begins on Friday morning, May 16^th, with a drive to two of the area’s premier private automobile collections. Friday evening, the Museum will host a reception featuring Dennis Gage, host of the tv show, My Classic Car. Saturday will be the showcase day and will feature the Invitational as well as the traditional Auto Show with automobiles coming from all over the Northeast and Canada. 

The schedule of the weekend’s events is as follows:

Friday, May 16

8:30 am to 3 :30 pm - Collections Tours Check in at the Museum and receive a tour book for the day’s tours (pre-registration requested). We will depart the Museum at 9:15 am and travel to Gloversville for a private tour of Mr. Jim Taylor’s collection. Mr. Taylor’s world-renowned collection includes barn finds, stunning race cars, artwork and over 100 breathtaking automobiles. We will then leave on a scenic tour that will conclude at a well-known restaurant at a scenic Adirondack location. Lunch will be provided as part of the registration fee. Following lunch, we will proceed to view Charlie & Marie Montano’s car collection. Among the many notable vehicles here, are several Chrysler Town & Country Woodies, an extremely rare 1942 Oldsmobile and an extremely rare 1947 Nash Suburban. The collection also includes important cars from the 1950’s and 1960’s. The group should return to the Museum at approximately 3:30 pm. Cost per person for the day’s activities is $85, and reservations should be made no later than May 9^th.

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm  Celebration with Dennis Gage Enjoy a relaxed evening of car talk with Dennis Gage, host of My Classic Car. Mr. Gage is traveling to Saratoga to film a segment of his popular television show during the Spring Invitational and Auto Show. The cost per person is $40 and includes a cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres and beverages. There is limited space available so tickets must be purchased in advance, no later than May 9^th.
