Opening Reception for Art in the Foyer Photography Exhibit - 05/10/2013
The National Museum of Dance will hold an opening reception for artist Jordan Matter’s photography exhibition Dancers Among Us. The show was selected under the Museum’s Art in the Foyer program, which annually welcomes dance-inspired fine art .
Jordan Matter has brought the Dancers Among Us photography series together in a critically acclaimed book. The book was published in 2012 and received immediate attention from not only the dance community but national press and reviewers. Dancers Among Us is a New York Times best seller, Oprah Magazine Favorite Read 2012, and Barnes and Noble Best Books of 2012. The success of this book has brought Jordan Matter to be featured on the Today Show, ABC World News, Yahoo, The Washington Post, BBC, O Magazine, Redbook, New York Daily News, and many other publications and programs.
Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served during the reception. Guests will have a chance to speak with the photographer about his work throughout the evening. Copies of Dancers Among Us are available for purchase and signing at the Museum’s gift shop.
