Open Studio: Bridging the Gap: Art Nouveau & Traditional Art
Innovations in commercial printing in the late nineteenth century brought fine art out of the salon and onto the streets with posters, prints, and magazines. As Art Nouveau swept across Europe, the icons of classical studio painting became the elegant line drawings of beautiful ladies in diaphanous gowns that are the hallmark of Art Nouveau's advertising age. In this session, artist and instructor Corey Pitkin will help students focus on creating line drawings of faces and figures in the elegant and flowing style of artists such as Alphonse Mucha. RSVP by contacting Kayla at 518-792-1761, ext. 310, or adminassist@hydecollection.org. $10 for members and $12 for non-members
