Create a one of a kind fabric with drape by felting merino wool top fibers into a previously woven, lightweight fabric. Start with a base of a variety of silk fabrics (or if you would rather, you can use a single piece). Work to create translucent areas while outlining, to give the finished piece a patchwork or stained glass effect. There will be a strong emphasis on color and design choices as well as fashioning a well-felted fabric that hangs softly. Some basting will be required. Learning this nuno technique is a starting point to create clothing, pillows, window treatments and more.
