Janet Robin at Caffe Lena - 05/08/2012
Janet Robin
anet Robin's musical education began the moment she met her guitar teacher, Randy Rhoads (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne). Under Rhoads' tutelage, Robin became an ace six-string player and, while still in high school, became lead guitarist for the all-female Southern California rock band Precious Metal. The band was soon signed to Polygram Records and released several albums, collaborated with Heart, Poison, and Cheap Trick, and toured extensively. Janet's next venture was touring with Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham's band, which profoundly influenced her guitar playing, singing and songwriting, as well as her general approach to the music business. With several solo albums and years of international touring under her belt, Janet has proven herself to be a musician's musician. She has teamed up with an amazing range of top tier artists: Meredith Brooks, Melissa Etheridge, Maia Sharp, Marcy Levy, and Anne McCue. Most recently, she was a touring member of Air Supply. She brings the power and chops of a serious rock guitarist to the stage, with an acoustic instrument and a repertoire of "smart, savvy, fuzzy, hooky pop, edgy pop." —LA Weekly
