Introduction to Woodworking with David Salvetti #1132-0520.
In this one-day class, we will examine the basics of working wood with a focus on hand tool techniques. (Power tool use will be addressed if requested). Topics we will cover include: understanding solid wood itself, planning a project, what tools to start with, how to sharpen quickly and easily and introductory techniques. We will practice these techniques by making a simple, useful piece that will assist you when woodworking. After taking this class, students will be ready to start building simple to moderate level woodworking projects. All tools and materials necessary for this class will be supplied. Students are encouraged to bring their own tools or high quality wood if they would like. Please call the instructor at least one week before this class to discuss your woodworking focus and allow him to prepare to meet your area of interest. He may be reached at (315) 341-8720.
