Goethe & Music

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Germany's most famous poet, was the inspiration for some of the world's best-loved lieder. Brooklyn Art Song Society presents an evening of Goethe's text set to music by two masters: Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf. Performers include Kristina Bachrach, soprano, Dominic Armstrong, tenor, Kyle Oliver, baritone, and Michael Brofman and Miori Sugiyama, piano. This concert will also feature a performance of our banner work for the season, Mendelssohn's "On Wings of Song."
