GLOBALFOUNDRIES Annual Fab 8 Open House

Please join us for this year's Fab 8 Open House.  This event will provide an interactive educational experience to learn about the company, the Fab 8 campus, and the semiconductor industry. This year's exhibits will include:

• Fab 8 Site Update - Hear an update on the operation of the most leading-edge semiconductor foundry manufacturing facility in the U.S.
• New! Virtual Reality Demo - Come experience a GLOBALFOUNDRIES product in-person in the form of virtual reality.  Demo a fully functional virtual reality system featuring AMD's Radeon™ RX Series graphics card using our 14nm FinFET technology.
• Manufacturing Process Overview - See the journey a wafer takes through the manufacturing process; "show-and-tell" displays (FOUPs, FOSBs wafers, etc.)
• New! Cleanroom Video Tour - Ever wanted to step inside the most advanced semiconductor cleanroom in the world?  Our new interactive video brings you as close as possible, without the bunny suit.  
• Bunny Suit Demo - Learn more about the specialized "bunny suits" employees wear when working in the cleanroom and even try them on!
• FIRST® Robotics Demonstration - The local FIRST Robotics Teams will showcase the robots they designed, built and competed with in regional competitions.  This station will also highlight the FIRST Coalition, launched by GLOBALFOUNDRIES,which has raised over $500,000 to support STEM education through FIRST® programs.
• New! Slime Time - For the children, come make "slime" through changing the physical state of water and glue.  This experiment exemplifies how we make a 'Semiconductor' more conductor-like or insulator-like by mixing certain materials in it. 
• New! Career Booth -  Interested in a career in advanced manufacturing?  Stop by the career booth and discuss with our team the skills and education necessary to work in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.  
• Environmental Sustainability & Site Safety - Fab 8's top priority is the safety of our employees and the community.  Learn more about our environmental sustainability efforts, and speak with members of the Emergency Response Team to learn about thespecialized training this team receives.  We will also highlight our partnership with local first responders.
