From Snapshot to Fine Art
This comprehensive ten-week course will provide the beginner to advanced intermediate photographer a firm foundation in photography and the digital darkroom, culminating in the production of their own fine art print. In addition to the weekly three-hour class, there will be weekly homework assignments covering additional reading, photographic assignments, and hands-on software activities which, when combined with in-class exercises, two weekend photo shoots, and weekly critiques of your work, will develop practical skills.
The course will cover:
- The workflow of a fine art digital photographer;
- Camera, Lenses and accessories – the tools of the trade;
- Light, color, white balance, and color management;
- Creative exposure and focus yielding a good base image;
- Lighting and backdrops to enhance your subject;
- The Lightroom Library module for managing your images;
- The Lightroom Development module and the On One software suite for artistically enhancing your images;
- Using the Lightroom Printing module along with appropriate ink and paper choices to print the image; and
- How to enhance and complete your image through matting and framing.
