This event is free to our community and everyone is welcome to participate and shred items such as tax documents, account information, addresses, insurance forms and telephone numbers.
First New York Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that we will be holding a Shredding Day at our Glenville Branch on Saturday, July 16th from 9:00 am until 12 noon. This event is free to our community and everyone is welcome to participate and shred items such as tax documents, account information, addresses, insurance forms and telephone numbers. Shredding sensitive documents is a great way to help safeguard against identity theft and fraud. First New York began offering ‘community shred days’ in 2010 as a service to help members and non-members alike, safely dispose of paperwork containing sensitive materials. Shredding is done by Schaap Certified Shredding of Albany. Enjoy complimentary hot dogs and drinks while you watch all those unwanted papers shred safely away. Shred Day will take place on Saturday, July 16th from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at the Glenville Branch located at 19 Glenridge Road. First New York FCU is a not for profit financial cooperative which serves more than 28,000 members and total assets of approximately $230 million. The credit union was originally founded in 1937 as Schenectady Teachers Federal Credit Union. The credit union has seven full service branch locations in Niskayuna, Cobleskill, Glenville, Albany, Rotterdam, Saratoga Springs, and Colonie. In addition, First New York FCU operates several elementary school savings programs and three in-school branch offices, run by student volunteers inside the Schenectady, Mohonasen, and Schoharie High Schools.
