Basic Fly Casting with Paul Sinicki. #1021-0408. 1/2 day.
Basic Fly Casting will introduce you to essential fly casting skills and start you on your way to a lifetime of fun and leisure. We will begin with an overview of the fly rod and its components, followed by a discussion of available fly line types and why you use them. The hands-on class starts with readying the rod for fishing. The physical casting program covers the four-part cast, false cast, and the very useful roll cast. There will be Q & A to review casting theory and how to assess your own casting. You will learn the basic knots needed for success on the water. Other casting information will be covered, time and interest permitting. No previous experience required.
NOTE: Students must bring a hat and glasses to wear for safety.
