Animals & Adventures on the Appalachian Trail - 06/22/2013
Animals and Adventures on the Appalachian Trail: Jennifer Pharr Davis will share some of her silliest and most exciting stories from the Appalachian Trail.
In 2011, Jennifer Pharr
Davis became the overall record holder on the Appalachian Trail. By
hiking 2,181 miles in 46 days – an average of 47miles per day – she
became the first female to ever set that mark.
In this program, Jennifer Pharr Davis will share some of her silliest and most exciting stories from the Appalachian Trail. Hear how she was able to make new friends, learn new skills, and discover new places by hiking through the forest. Jennifer will talk about some of the fun and unexpected animal encounters that she has experienced - and she will teach you what to do if you ever see a bear on the trail! She will also bring some of her gear to show you what she takes with her when she goes on a very long hike. This is a great opportunity for kids, young and old, to meet a real-life adventurer. Jen will also be selling autographed copies of her books.
