The Saratoga Automobile Museum's highly anticipated new Golub Gallery exhibition, REMADE IN AMERICA
Featuring a variety of cars and trucks from the Capital District along with four from outside the immediate region, the 13-car exhibition honors those automotive enthusiasts who put their heart and soul into restoring a rusted old hulk, converting an abandoned antique into a technically advanced hot rod or cutting a car in half, as Latham's Paul Hoffman did, and making it into something entirely different.
At one time or another, every enthusiast sees a car, truck or motorcycle that strikes a chord in his or her heart (yes, one car on exhibit, a very hot Pontiac GTO, is owned and raced by a girl) and they simply must own and lovingly care for that vehicle. REMADE IN AMERICA invites enthusiasts everywhere to visit Saratoga and see what 13 other "car guys" have done "up close and personal."
Whether its Marc Merkle's Nash Metropolitan rebuilt from a rusted hulk, Jay Abend's '32 Ford Cabriolet hot rod built by Boyd Coddington or Albert Ciejka's exquisite '56 Ford Thunderbird, there is something for everyone in REMADE IN AMERICA.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Car owners and exhibition curator Ron Hedger will be on hand to discuss the vehicles and the exhibition.
SAM members enter free. Non-members, reservations are strongly recommended, with $15 advance tickets available online at www.saratogaautomuseum.org. Tickets will also be available at the door for $20 per adult.
Anyone planning to attend are asked to please RSVP to Heidi Shull at Heidi.Shull@saratogaautomuseum.org prior to the event.
