Adirondack Winter Sports & Healthy Living Expo
SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Saratoga Healthy Living Expo has joined forces with the Adirondack Sports & Fitness Winter Expo to produce one of the Capital Region’s largest exhibitions of outdoor sports, fitness, travel and living well. The Adirondack Sports & Fitness “Winter Sports & Healthy Living Expo” will be on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20, 2011 at the Saratoga Springs City Center. This two day show will host a variety of hands-on demos, seminars and activities for all ages. The show brings Adirondack Sports & Fitness magazine to life, giving attendees an opportunity to meet winter resort reps, ski shops, destinations and more. Ski/snowboard retailers and outdoor clubs will offer sales, demos and membership opportunities. Health and fitness professionals will share their expertise and encouragement, and travel exhibitors will present day, overnight and family adventures. One Roof of Saratoga will offer sample sessions of healing treatments including Reiki, acupuncture and massage therapy. Seminars by regional professionals will cover a wide range of health and fitness topics. Show activities include the Mega Spin Class, which will be the largest spin class in the Capital Region, led by Kevin Crossman, USAT certified coach and All-American triathlete. Lisa Morahan, founder of floydwarriors.com, which “Helps Families Cope With Cancer, One Household at a Time,” established the Saratoga Healthy Living Expo in 2010, a few months after finishing chemotherapy for stage 3 breast cancer. In hopes of staying cancer free, she consulted her oncologist as to what kind of lifestyle choices she should make after treatment. Frustrated and lacking adequate responses, Ms. Morahan hoped to bring together the Capital District’s leading professionals for a weekend of hands on experience and great informational sharing. Thus, the Healthy Living Expo was conceived. Darryl and Mona Caron, publishers of Adirondack Sports & Fitness magazine since 2000, have produced the Summer and Winter Expos for a number of years. Based in Clifton Park, the free distribution regional sports and fitness publication has a monthly circulation of 20,000 copies. When the producers realized their expos were slated for the same weekend in November, unfortunate scheduling turned into a golden opportunity for all. Exhibit hours will run Saturday, November 19 from 10am-6pm and Sunday, November 20 from 10am-4pm. Admission is $5 (kids 18-under free) with partial proceeds to benefit floydwarriors.com. Exhibitor registration is being accepted and space is limited. For more show information, call (518) 877-8788 or visit AdkSports.com.
