An interactive educational experience for community members to learn about GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Fab 8 and the semiconductor industry.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES will host an Open House event at its Fab 8 campus on Monday, November 11 from 5:00-8:00 pm.  The Fab 8 Open House will provide an interactive educational experience for community members to learn about the company, Fab 8 campus and the semiconductor industry.  The event is open to everyone in the community. Exhibits will include:

• Show and Tell – Get an up-close look at patterned wafers, packaged chips, and reticles used in the manufacturing process.  
• Try on a Bunny Suit! – Check out the special “bunny” suits employees wear in the cleanroom and learn what it takes to manufacture a semiconductor wafer.
• Manufacturing Module Overview – Follow the steps, or modules, a wafer goes through during the manufacturing process – Etch, Lithography, Thin Films, Diffusion, Clean and CMP.
• Fab 8 Where Are We Now? – Learn more about the development and current operations of the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing foundry campus.
