A pastel demonstration by Andrew DeVries.

DeVries will guide the participants on his methodology in creating his one-of-a-kind pastels that are inspired by the impressionists. DeVries will discuss his use of vibrant colors to evoke the vitality and movement of the dance. Homage to Dance, DeVries’ on-going installation in the Northwest Gallery of the museum, contains a number of his pastels as well as a large collection of his bronze sculptures.

Homage to Dance will continue to be on display at the museum until mid-November. The exhibit includes over twenty pastels, over forty sculptures, and an informative video component that elaborates not only on the story of DeVries’ incredible career, but also the complicated process behind his works.
