Free discussion about Immigration with light refreshments.
This discussion is free and open to the general public, the event begins at 6 pm on Tuesday, October 1 at Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
“Saratoga County has a long history of being home to many immigrants,” said Anne Clothier, Director of Education at Brookside. “Early settlers were attracted by the fertile farmland just as recent immigrants are coming here with developing industries.” Clothier stressed that this program is an excellent opportunity for members of the community gather and discuss the changes. Participants will also be able to learn about Brookside’s new related project, An Oral History of Tech Valley’s Modern Immigrants: 1999 to the Present. This project is a collaboration with the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County and aims to collect the stories of individuals who have immigrated within the last fifteen years, and are living or working in Saratoga County.
