‘The Isle of Klezbos’ concert
Congregation Shaara Tfille/The Jewish Community Center of Saratoga Springs will present The Isle of Klezbos on Sunday, June 18 at 2pm. It will be held in their synagogue at 84 Weibel Avenue and is part of the 2017 Saratoga Jewish Cultural Festival. Sponsored by a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Northeast NY, the costs are $5 per person, free for students with ID. A dessert reception will follow the performance. Please RSVP to 584-2370 or saratogajcc@albany.twcbc.com. The Isle of Klezbos is a soulful, fun-loving, all-women’s klezmer group by combining tradition with irreverence and respect by performing a repertoire that ranges from rambunctious to neo-traditional folk dance, mystical melodies, Yiddish swing & retro tango, late Soviet-era Jewish drinking song, re-grooved standards and genre-defying originals. Based out of New York City, they have toured from Vienna to Vancouver.
