Sachal Ensemble Performance
The Sachal Ensemble musicians -- known for their extraordinary journey from Lahore to Lincoln Center featured in the Song of Lahore film -- will bring their brilliant music and the story of how they saved a piece of their culture despite Pakistan’s tumultuous political climate, to Saratoga audiences for a one-of-a-kind performance. When their video interpretation of Brubeck’s Paul Desmond classic "Take Five" went viral, the musicians became international sensations and were invited to collaborate with trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Come experience live what jazz legend Dave Brubeck called "the most interesting and different recording of 'Take Five' that I've ever heard” at SPAC’s Spa Little Theatre on Monday, October 30 at 7pm. Sachal Ensemble will also perform at Proctors, 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Tickets for the performance start at $40 and can be purchased at spac.org.
