Adirondack Folk School to Host Summer Craft and Food Festival
The Adirondack Folk School will host a Summer Craft and Food Festival. The event will take place on the school grounds overlooking the Hudson. Dozens of craft and food vendors are expected with live music.
AFS will also hold its second annual membership meeting, open to all members of AFS and will be hosting the annual Blacksmith Instructor Rendezvous in the Forge. This is a unique gathering of our renowned blacksmith instructors who will be collaborating and working on behalf of AFS and advancement of blacksmithing.
The meeting will provide members with an opportunity to voice their opinions about the goal and direction of the school and its programs, and will also introduce members to the AFS Board of Trustees, and to the staff.
The Adirondack Folk School seeks to preserve Adirondack arts, crafts and culture through a diverse offering of more than 200 classes each year. The school is known for having one of the best blacksmithing teaching facilities in the country. Classes are also offered on fiber arts, rustic furniture making, canoe building, jewelry, woodworking, and basketry. Proceeds from the event will benefit the continued operation of the school.
