Maintenance Worker

Seasonal (temporary) Maintenance Worker (WG-5) at Saratoga National Historical Park.  Join the park's Facility Management team to assist in operations and maintenance activities.   Pay Scale: $21.53 - 25.11. The typical work season is May to November but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2024.  

SUMMARIZED MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assist journey-level, or other higher graded maintenance workers in the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings and facilities in at least two areas such as: carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and equipment.
  • Constructs, maintains and repairs historic buildings and structures.
  • Prepares and paints interiors and exteriors of historic buildings.
  • Performs minor plumbing tasks such as tightening or replacing fixtures and fittings, which do not require custom fittings or soldering.
  • Performs electrical repairs on buildings, such as replacing outlets, switches, and fixtures.
  • Operates equipment to load and unload materials, earth work, and other general maintenance.
  • Removing and replacing fence posts, cutting and fastening new fence boards/pickets and rails.
  • Tilling soil and planting grass seed; removing shrubs and small tress and planting new ones.
  • Assisting with recurring cleaning of public and staff spaces
