Animal tracks can tell us many stories. They can tell us about an animal's habitat, where they are going and where they have been. In this basic tracking class students will learn how to identify different animal species that inhabit the Adirondacks. Students will learn how to make their own tracking aides which will include tracking sticks and foot placement cards, how to properly measure tracks, how to identify and measure an animal's gait, how to cast tracks and how to assemble a tracking kit. At the end of the class students will leave with the basic knowledge to identify various animal species and will have tracking aides to help them start their own path into tracking and creating a trackers journal.
