Tang Museum Summer Opening Celebration: Frances Day
Frances Day is a celebration of the museum’s namesake, Frances Young Tang. The event includes music, art-making, gallery talks, snow cones and a photo booth so you can create your own keepsake. Everything is free and open to the public, with all the museum galleries open from noon to 7 p.m.
Schedule of events
•Noon – 1 pm: Opening performance by singer-songwriter MaryLeigh Roohan
•Noon – 5 pm: Scavenger Hunt for the young and young at heart
•1 to 4 pm: Drop-in art activity: Inspired by Kay Rosen’s huge painting Wanderful!painted directly on the wall in I was a double, art-makers age 5 and older will create whimsical graphic art using alphabet stamps and stencils
•2:30 to 3:30 pm: Improv songwriting, featuring singer-songwriter Michael Eck, Roger Noyes and M.R. Poulopoulos
•4:30 to 5:30 pm: Artist talks in the galleries
•5:30 to 7 pm: Public reception
