Tang Museum Exhibition: Opener 29 Arturo Herrera: Day Before

Exhibition June 6, through August 23, 2015 Berlin-based artist Arturo Herrera's body of work includes cut paper collages, felt sculptures, drawings, paintings, wall installations, and works on found objects such as canvas tote bags, shirts, and books. Much of Herrera's work uses bold colors and fantastical, abstracted forms to rework childhood images such as animated Disney characters. His art disorients viewers from these recognizable figures and invites reinterpretation of familiar modes of representation and seeing.
