SPAC Battle of the Bands.

June 3, 2011 6:00 pm $15.00 Little Theater Battle of the Bands presented by WEQX & The Recording Company Program Battle of the Bands is Back! Presented by WEQX and The Recording Company. The Battle of the Bands is a friendly competition between bands and an opportunity for local artists to perform at a world-class venue. There will be one night of competition on June 3rd in which bands will be given 10 minutes each to perform in front of a live audience and a celebrity judge panel which includes, WEQX's Jason Erwin, moe drummer, Vinnie Amico, and a Blue Note Records talent scout. The event is run "American Idol"-style with 3 celebrity judges rating the performance of each band following their time slot. The 10 finalists who will perform on June 3rd will be chosen via a YouTube audition video and online entry form available at www.spac.org. Any band can apply to compete in this competition on spac.org through April 24th. All bands that apply will be listed on SPAC's website on April 27th. The public will have the opportunity to select one of the ten finalists by voting for their favorite band on SPAC's website, www.spac.org, on April 27th and 28th. The other nine finalists will be chosen by a SPAC Selection Committee. The final ten bands will compete for a chance to win a prize package that includes a professionally recorded 5-song EP at The Recording Company and airplay on northeast radio station WEQX. At the live competition, "audience response" will count for 60% of the deciding vote for a Battle of the Bands winner, with the remaining 40% based on judges' evaluations. The ten finalists will be announced on www.spac.org on April 29th.
