This year Round Lake will be hosting the Round Lake Comedy festival, Round Lake has presented comedy nights in the past, this year we're taking it up a notch with a 2 day event. Round Lake Comedy Festival 2015 August 14 lineup Mikael Gregg-Feature Starting his standup in Houston in 1986, Mikael watched Bill Hicks, Janeane Garofalo, and great comics of the south until moving to New York in the late 80s. There he got to perform with Rodney Dangerfield, Kevin James, and great comics in the north. Then in 1990 Mikael walked away from standup to go into practice as a chiropractor in upstate New York. After enjoying success in healthcare opening over a dozen offices, he returned to comedy in 2013. In comedy, timing is everything. Ethan Ulman -Feature You may have heard Ethan on his weekly comedy radio show "Alternative to Sleeping with Ethan Ullman" every Thursday night from 10 PM to midnight on WCDB 90.9 FM and ComedyPipe Radio. As a standup comedian, Ethan has performed with some big names in comedy, including Todd Barry, Brian Posehn, Doug Stanhope (he must really love these Albany folks), Nick Vatterott, and Jeff "The Drunk" Curro (from the Howard Stern Show). Ethan also produces "Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show" series at Proctor's theater in Schenectady, NY. Tim Wright - Headliner Like sweet tea and boiled peanuts, Tim's style of comedy is purely southern. You won't hear any "might be a redneck" jokes though. Tim has a PhD - A Plain High School Diploma. Upon graduation, he left his home in Lancaster, SC and joined the Military where he served our country for 10 years. He'll be the first to tell you that the most important battle he ever fought was the one that gave him sole custody of his son. The two of them moved to Myrtle Beach in search of a new beginning, and what Tim found was a love for performing stand up. Honing his craft at open mic nights his comedic observations on growing up, dating and everyday life as a single dad provided him with more than enough material to win the 2010 Beach's Best Comic Award. Tim has entertained audiences with his authentic southern drawl, pin-point comedic timing and clever delivery of his unique life experiences. Jennnifer McMullen - Host Jennifer is the winner of the 2013 Capital Region's Best of the Best Comedy Contest and will take you on a wild ride through her life with hilarious tales of lovers, family, co-workers and motherhood. She has performed all over the Capital Region including the EGG, The WAMC Linda Theater and several hotspots in NYC, CT and MA! Jennifer is an HR professional by day, comedian by night and mother 24/7. Jenn also produces "Jennifer McMullen Presents a Comedy Show" at The Linda in Albany, NY. August 15 lineup Shawn Gillie - Feature Shawn Gillie is a radio personality on FLY 92.3. He's only been doing comedy for a little over 4 years and has performed in NYC, LA, Honolulu, Foxwoods Casino in CT as well as all over the North East. He is the winner of the Everybody Needs A Little Luv Comedy Contest and the Cuse Comedy Fest in Syracuse. Shawn produces a monthly show at Bombers in Troy and has performed here locally at The Egg, Linda Theater, Madison Theater, The Comedy Works as well as countless dive bars. Before his surgery he could always been seen weekly at The Golden Corral Buffet. He has a sick, twisted sense of humor and you will be so ashamed at yourself for laughing at the things he says! You can find out more about Shawn on his website, www.shawngillie.com Dee Watson - Feature Dee Watson is the producer of this comedy festival, she has produced one night comedy shows at the Auditorium for the past 4 years, this will be the first 2 night event. Not a household name, but has been doing stand-up comedy since 2001, she stepped out of her comfort zone and auditioned for the Connecticut Comedy Festival, her audition was her first time ever doing stand-up comedy and she was chosen to participate. Dee's timing, delivery and her ability to talk about things we can all relate to, make's her show appealing to a wide audience. In today's world, you never know what you will hear at a comedy show, Dee will make you laugh and you can bring your mom to the show. Dee has performed at Gotham Comedy Club, The Funny Bone - Syracue, and the Chicago Women's Funny Fest and as far away as Florida, between raising kids and abusing her husband, Dee has an interesting look at the most mundane things, you'll never see thong underwear the same again. Vicky Kuperman - Headliner is a Moscow-born Boston native, New York City rat-packer and recently named "one of 12 new comedians to watch" on The Huffington Post. In 2014, she published her debut (comedic) novel, "The Russian Drop", and released her debut comedy album "When I Could Feel," out on iTunes, streaming on Pandora & Spotify and soon to be heard on SiriusXM's comedy channel. She performed her Off-Broadway one-hour solo stand-up show to packed houses for five nights at the 2014 United Solo Theatre Festival, where she won "Best Stand-up of the Fest." Max Cohen - Host Originally from the scenic suburbs of Maryland, Max has performed his unique brand of self-deprecating yet tasteful and hilarious comedy at clubs from Las Vegas to South Africa. Finally making his home in New York City, he brings the confusions and bewilderments of his life from the family dinner table to stages such as the Laugh Lounge, Comix, and Stand Up NY, where he runs the hit show Two Jews, One Mic.
