Rosie Napravnik is the honorary host for the Old Friends at Cabin Creek 4th Annual Kickoff Cocktail Party to be held on July 20, 2013 from 7-11pm at the Saratoga Polo & Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, NY. Hors d’oeuvres , buffet stations and desserts catered by Chef Allan Winney. Live music will be provided by Jazz combo, “Fresh”.
This year our live auction features two stand-out items of special interest to thoroughbred racing enthusiasts. Up for bids is the Parade Ring Pennant bearing the name of Frankel, signed by jockey Tom Queally, Frankel’s late trainer, Sir Henry Cecil, considered to be one of the greatest trainers of all time, and Frankel’s owner, Khalid Abdullah. The provenance is included. The pennant was used at the 2011 QIPCO Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and is the first significant piece of Frankel memorabilia to come to the US. In this race, Frankel prevailed, racing against older horses for the first time in his storied career.
The second notable item is the red, white and blue silks worn by jockey, Jerry Bailey on Cigar when he won the 1995 Breeder’s Cup Classic. The silks are framed and signed by Jerry Bailey, Bill Mott (Cigar’s trainer) and owners Allan and Madeleine Paulson.
Other live auction items include jewelry, an Outer Banks time share, a Rita Dee horse sculpture and art from local equine artists.
100% of the funds raised by the live auction go to support the retired race horses of Old Friends at Cabin Creek in the coming year.  Tickets may be purchased on line via our web site
