Anniversary of General Grant's death at Mt. McGregor

Ulysses S. Grant, hero of the Civil War and 18th. President of the United States, passed away at Grant Cottage on July 23rd., 1885. THis vital place in American history will be celebrated at the Cottage on Grant Remembrance Day, Saturday July 23rd., 2011. Reinactors dressed in Victorian Era costumes will portray the Grant family - all of whom were at his bedside when General Grant died -and Steve Trimm, Grant Cottage tour guide, will portray the General's eldest child, Colonel Frederick Grant. Colonel Fred will offer thoughts on some critical, but virtually unknown incidents from his father's life.
