February 27 to May 1 Fully Online Course Are you interested in a career working with animals but don't know how to get started? This course will help you explore animal-related careers through education and internships. The Pet Education Certificate course offers a variety of resources to help begin or advance your career working with animals in areas such as pet-sitting, kennel work, daycare, training, working for a veterinarian and other animal-related fields. The course content includes: pet health and illness, communication, behavior management, safety, basic hygiene care for pets, writing a resume and preparing for an interview. Internships offer opportunities for students to network for experience and potential employment. The instructor will assist you in securing the necessary internships to complete the certificate. In order to successfully complete this program, individuals must complete a Pet First Aid and CPR class and at least 54 hours of internship experience at approved animal-care facilities within six months of completion of the online course. Those who successfully complete this unique program will have specialized education and experience that gives them an advantage in the field. This course will further your knowledge and skills through engaging and informative course materials and hands-on internship experiences. Participants will need to purchase three textbooks separately. Cost is estimated to be $65 for all three.
