Mike Merenda and Ruthy Ungar are a husband-and-wife duo with an uncommon ability to create songs as lyrically sophisticated as Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen, and as harmonically beautiful as Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, or Simon & Garfunkel. With their fiddle, banjo, guitar, ukulele and hallmark harmony singing, a Mike and Ruthy concert is overstuffed with soulful songs and stories and a timeless sound that is spellbinding and pure.

During the past decade they've toured worldwide, from living rooms and festivals to Carnegie Hall with Arlo Guthrie, and Madison Square Garden for Pete Seeger's 90th birthday celebration. Their latest album, 2012's The NYC EP, includes a re-crafted version of Woody Guthrie's "My New York City" from the Woody Guthrie archives.
