Free Community Program on Caregiving and Aging
A free community program to explore caregiving and aging issues will be presented on Wednesday, June 6 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Inn at Saratoga on Broadway. Entitled As I Am, So Shall You Be, local author Patricia A. Nugent will do readings from her book, They Live On: Saying Goodbye to Mom and Dad that reveal our universal emotions when it comes to end-of-life issues. Attendees will receive a free autographed copy of her book and light refreshments will be served, courtesy of co-sponsors John Hancock Financial Network and the law firm of King, Adang, Arpey, Strickland and Thompson (KAAST). According to Rebecca Alexander, financial representative with John Hancock Financial Network, “Our agency pursued this collaboration because it’s our job to help people prepare for their future. Every day we are contacted by people who suddenly need advice because they have not done sufficient planning. As Ms. Nugent’s book so brilliantly points out, all it takes is one broken hip to send your life, and your finances, reeling. It’s in all of our best interest to do pre-planning, and working with Chip Strickland from KAAST gives us yet another resource to offer people who need sound counsel during the process.” Seating is limited and must be reserved by June 1 by calling 587-2828 or emailing Bill Breheny at wbreheny@jhnetwork.com.
