A One Big Roof Workshop with Bill Karelis & Jan Wilcox
"Spiritual Materialism," a phrase coined by the great meditation master and scholar, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, refers to the tendency to turn spirituality into a possession, accomplishment or adornment. Genuine spiritual practice cuts through this egotistical tendency by showing us when and how it arises in our state of mind. Sitting meditation, as practiced in the Buddhist tradition, tunes us into the present moment of experience, so we can clearly see how ego affects our thought, speech and behavior in everyday life. In this weekend seminar Bill Karelis and Jan Wilcox, the co-leaders, will describe the journey of meditation and host discussion of the issues in the context of sitting practice. Saturday, February 25th: Noon - 5 pm with a tea break in the middle. Sunday, February 26th: 10 am - 4 pm with a 1-1/2 hour lunch break. $40/day; $70 for the whole program.
