Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic featuring Djelloul Marbrook
This monthly poetry open mic series features one poet who will read for 20 min. Please bring one long poem or two short poems for the open mic portion. Djelloul Marbrook’s first collection of poems, Far From Algiers (Kent State University Press, 2008), won the 2007 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize and the 2010 International Book Award in poetry. His most recent collection of poems is Brushstrokes and Glances (Deerbrook Editions, 2011). He’s won awards for his short fiction as well, and his novella, Saraceno (Blissplot Press), is forthcoming in 2012. He lives near Woodstock, NY and is currently working on a third collection of poetry.
