The Jewish Community Center of Saratoga Springs, located at 84 Weibel Avenue, announces the Fall 2011 satellite broadcast series ‘Live from NY’s 92nd Street Y’. Partially sponsored by a generous grant from The United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, this program brings lectures and interviews from internationally recognized political figures, entertainers, newsmakers and authors to community organizations and provides an opportunity to take part in discussions with some of the world’s most fascinating people. On Tuesday, September 13 at 8pm, they will host the satellite broadcast of Barbara Walters with Dr. Gail Saltz. Dr. Saltz will interview Barbara as part of her series “Strength of Mind,” which explores how people find success, real happiness and the ability to deal with life’s problems. Over the course of her career, Barbara Walters has interviewed a wide range of national and international statesmen, every American President and First Lady since Richard Nixon and made journalism history by arranging the first interview with Egypt's President Anwar Sadat and Israel's Prime Minister Menachem Begin as well as an hour-long conversation with Cuban President Fidel Castro. Barbara appeared on NBC's Today Show for 15 years, hosted Not for Women Only and was the first woman to co-host the network news. After 25 years as co-host and chief correspondent for 20/20, Barbara became co-owner, co-executive producer and co-host of The View. The Barbara Walters Specials are continuously top-rated specials and she remains an active member of the ABC news division and network. Her candid autobiography Audition was an instant bestseller. Psychiatrist, columnist, author and television commentator Dr. Gail Saltz is a health, sex, and relationship contributor to the Today show and A&E’s Biography programs. She writes for NBC.com, O magazine and ivillage.com, and interviews celebrities and extraordinary individuals at the 92nd Street Y. She has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dateline, CBS News and the Early Show, Fox News, CNN, Larry King Live and Anderson Cooper 36. Dr. Saltz is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at The NY Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell School of Medicine, a psychoanalyst with The NY Psychoanalytic Institute and has a private practice.
