Join Us for a WWII USO Show!
The Friends of the New York State Military Museum present a historic recreation of a USO Armed Forces Radio broadcast first hosted by Bob Hope on May 6, 1941. Local historian Gary Ferris will MC the event as a WWII radio host, replete with the superb Manhattan Dolls. A performance unequaled in modern times will unfold before your eyes as you will be taken back in time to a WWII USO cantina with 3 hours of nonstop entertainment and refreshments, reminiscent of the era of America’s Greatest Generation. The event will include: A live recreated radio performance, with monologues inspired by Bob Hope, period ad spots, War Bond promos, and songs of the era Live performances by the unequaled Manhattan Dolls Stirring swing dance performances Refreshments similar to those served at USO cantinas Saturday, May 19, 2012 2 pm – 5 pm The New York State Military Museum 61 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs Tickets: $25 for Advance Sale, $30 at the Door, $20 for Active Military All Proceeds to benefit The Friends of the New York State Military Museum Tickets can be purchased on our website at www.friendsofthenysmilitarymuseum.com or in the gift shop located within the Military Museum
