2015 RPI CATS- Albany CEG Advanced Manufacturing Conference

The Center for Automation Technologies and Systems (CATS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Center for Economic Growth (CEG) are partnering to host the third annual Advanced Manufacturing Conference (AMC). The day-long conference, themed What's Next? will be held October 14, 2015 at The Desmond Albany Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, NY. The Conference will bring together leaders from industry, government and academia to explore emerging ways to leverage advances in manufacturing processes and systems, along with business best practices, to speed innovation and product commercialization, cost-effectively onshore manufacturing, and better compete in the global marketplace. The 2015 CATS/CEG Advanced Manufacturing Conference builds upon the successes of previous conferences held in April 2013 and April 2014. This year's Conference has been moved to October to better align with National Manufacturing Day activities throughout the region. It will feature workshops and discussions on leading-edge topics in materials processing and manufacturing systems. The Conference will also feature key topics in business-focused sessions and training. New for this year's Advanced Manufacturing Conference, a Networking Session specific for Job Opportunities in Manufacturing. This will be an informal event designed for manufacturers to meet directly with local engineering students interested in internships and careers in manufacturing. Also planned for the Conference are a Poster and Exhibits Session featuring a broad array of industrially focused projects and areas of research, offering an opportunity for one-on-one interaction with student and faculty researchers, industrial researchers, numerous networking opportunities, and examples of successful university-industry partnerships.
