Live from NY’s 92nd Street Y broadcast of “The Epic Struggle to Save Soviet Jewry: Pivotal Figures from a Heroic Era”

Please join Congregation Shaara Tfille/The Jewish Community Center of Saratoga Springs, located at 84 Weibel Avenue, for their Live from NY’s 92nd Street Y broadcast of “The Epic Struggle to Save Soviet Jewry: Pivotal Figures from a Heroic Era” on Wednesday, November 9, 8:00pm. The panel consists of Natan Sharansky, Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, author of When They Come for Us, We’ll Be Gone: The Epic Struggle to Save Soviet Jewry Gal Beckerman, Margarita Levieva and political advisor Richard Perle with Thane Rosenbaum. They will discuss the dramatic cold war period when American Jewry first became politicized as Jews, and Jews behind Russia’s Iron Curtain took grave risks in order to win their freedom and emigrate to Israel or the United States. This lecture is underwritten by The Blavatnik Family Foundation. Sponsored by a generous grant from The United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, the Live from the 92nd St. broadcasts are open to the public, tickets are $10. Doors open 45 minutes prior to each broadcast. Refreshments will be available and no outside food items are permitted in the building.
