"The Cinema of Ousmane Sembene and its Legacy"

Dr. Aboubakar Sanogo, associate professor of film studies, Carleton University will examine the political and aesthetic project of the man known as the “father of African cinema.” It will also look at the lingering significance of his work in contemporary film practice.
