DESCRIPTION:This class will take the student through basic design considerations from warping\, weaving and finishing a relatively fine tencel scarf or shawl. Students will be provided with their choice of color in 5/2 tencel (18-24 epi) and encouraged to experiment with color play in plainweave or simple twill structures. Friday will be designing and warping\, Saturday is weaving and Sunday will be final finishing with a group show and tell\, as well as a projection for the next weaving project. Basic weaving skills will be addressed throughout. Students will contribute to a pool of weaving resources (print\, online and local) and should finish with confidence in their ability to move towards their next weaving goal.
