SUMMARY:Tuffet Footstool with Carol Johns. #1306-0319. 2 half days\, 3/19 and 3/22.
DESCRIPTION:In two four-hour sessions\, students will make a lovely\, one of a kind\, 18" custom tuffet style footstool. This is a great project for students who are quilters\, as it will free you from all those strips of fabric that get stashed about the sewing room. Students can use as many different fabrics as they like. The pattern can be made with 2-64 different strips. The first day is for piecing the tuffet top. Students will learn how to mark the pattern onto the fabric and begin the sewing portion of the project. There will be some homework to complete sewing the tuffet top. The second day students will complete the tuffet top assembly and upholster the tuffet.\n\n?This class meets on Monday 3/19 and Thursday 3/22.\n\n\n\n \n\n\nNOTE: Students will need to bring the following: 1. Assortment of cotton decorative fabrics. The project requires 64 strips of fabric 2-3" wide and 23" long. 2. 6" square of coordinating fabric 3. 5/8 yard of coordinating fabric 4. 2 yards of muslin cut into 8 rectangles each measuring 9" x 22" 5. Marking pencil or pen 6. A well-functioning sewing machine 7. Thread 8. Scissors 9. Seam ripper 10. Rotary cutter\, cutting mat and ruler.
