Be a Shavee\, Root your team on\, Volunteer\, or Make a Donation. 100% funds go to St. Baldricks Foundation.It takes a community to cure childhood cancer. \n\n50+ “Shavees” of all ages (including women) are expected to shave their heads to show solidarity with kids with cancer and to raise money for life-saving children’s cancer research.\n\nLuke Romano\, a Clifton Park teen who lost his 7 year battle with cancer last August will be honored\, in addition to several other local teens. You can learn more about them on the event web page:\nhttp://bit.ly/StBaldricksProctors\n\nShave your head\, become a volunteer\, donate\, or just come and watch. \n\nSt. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event at Proctors Theatre on Saturday\, March 24\, 2012. \n\nProctors Theatre has donated the space so 100% of funds raised will benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation\, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. \n\nWhy are so many people willing to shave their heads? \n\nWorldwide\, more than 160\,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year\, including children throughout the greater Capital Region. Sadly\, some will lose the greatest fight of their short lives\, despite treatment. A mere 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding is dedicated to pediatric cancer research. St. Baldrick’s Foundation grants fund research to hospitals like Albany Medical Center and others across the United Sates and play a critical in battling this devastating disease.\n\nYour participation could make a big difference...will you join us?\n\nShavees\, volunteers on day of event\, corporate sponsorhips of teams and donations are needed to meet our goal of $25\,000.
